Hi, my plane is an aztec f and it has blown three vacuum pumps in the last days, this started happening after su. N fun, took it to a mechanic and he just replaced the pump, along with the alternator in the same engine and a cht probe for the jpi also in the same engine.
When i picked up the plane and started the engin the pump showed no red dot but the needle was indicating lower than usual. Landed without notice.
The day after we start the same engine and red dot... No indication in the needle.
We go this time to the onfield mechanic and does the same thing replacing the pump for another new one stating that the other pump must have been defective.
Today we start the engine, no red dot, low needle and after .4 . Hobbs the pump fails again, we return and upon inspection from the onfield mechanic comes up with the theory of a block line related to the boots that is making the pump overwork and therefore brake.
During this last flight we also noticed the red annunciator light from the alternator in the same engine. When we are in the ground at low rpm.s the annunciator light will turn off.
Opinions on this??
Both mechanics told us the alternator thing has nothing to do with the pump thing, but im starting to feel that the engine is putting too much stress on some components, can this be a valid theory??
