The last dynamic balance on my prop was done at 2100rpm a couple of years ago. This time around, I was contemplating getting it balanced at 2300 RPM until reading that I should not increase engine RPM above 2200 on the ground (source: Lycoming O-540, IO-540 Series Operator's Manual, page 3-3).

Therefore, I'm almost entirely decided on doing the dynamic balance at 2200RPM. I am just wondering what you other O-540 and IO-540 owners do. On a Dakota like mine, 2200RPM is not too far from redline, but on a Lance or Saratoga I would imagine that 2200RPM is farther from your cruise RPM which may obviate the real-world applicability of a dynamic balance performed at 2200.

I would appreciate everyone's thoughts. Thank you!
