Lance best family plane ever?

I decided to be provocative with the title and am looking for opinions with a few facts thrown in, but ... why was the Lance only made for 3 years? I know mission is king so don’t bother telling me a different plane is better for a different mission, but now having flown for about 2500 hours and getting to know planes, the Lance seems to be clearly the best compromise of speed, useful load, range, comfort, initial cost, operating cost, etc, etc. To me, it’s two big deficiencies are how it flies (truck-like for lack of a better term) and they are all old now (vacuum pump etc). Cirrus is great, pressurization would be nice, but put it all together to haul family and friends around, go coast to coast, go to the Bahamas, etc, the Lance is your vehicle. Have at it!
