Like Lantajohn's question on his Arrow (flew one this past weekend by the way, love the power, constant speed prop and the retractable gear) my Cherokee hot or cold, will turn over about a half turn then when I restart it will turn over normally. I've read to check the switch which I will do. Are there techniques such as making sure the prop is at a certain position before cranking? My prop is usually at 3 and 9 because that's the way it is parked in the hangar and I've thought about placing it at 12 and 6 prior to start due to possible compression position preventing it from turning over normally.

Second question, has anyone ever used the jumper cable on the external fixture hooked up to a trickle charger with a desulfator to tend the battery? Seems doable rather than break the safety on the battery box every time to hook up the charger.

I'm still waiting on my maintenance manual to show up.
