Hello guys, I am going to be doing the discovery flight this month at KLZU. I am thinking very hard of buying a Piper Cherokee 180 as a starter aircraft after I get my certificate. I mainly plan on carrying my wife and I to Florida three times a year and just doing some local flying. No kids, very little baggage. I found some very nice 180s for a very affordable price, but they will probably be sold by the time I get my certificate. I plan on taking 2 classes a week, perhaps three.
Would you guys recommend a 180 for what I want to do, or is there another aircraft you have in mind? Also, I checked the school and they have the Piper Archer. How much different is that to train in form the Cherokee? Also, I am a veteran and saw that they had programs for the GI Bill after I pay the initial for my certificate. ANy other veterans out there that have used the GI Bill?

Thanks
