Greetings all. I just purchased my first plane two weeks ago, and I've got a few questions.
i have a 1974 Piper Warrior PA28-151, with a 160HP. It has 1870 TT, IFR capable, but in need of some updates. I would love to have a Garmin 650, a GMA 345, a GTX 345, and possibly a GFC 500 (which must have a G5 according to my quote)...but I am not sure how much life I will have in this engine. Recent annual had mid-70's compressions and no metal in the oil. Any thoughts on the life of a well taken care of engine?
I recently flew for about 2 hours, got some cheap fuel, and when I attempted to start the plane...my battery was dead. I got it jumped, and flew back home with no problems. Today I flew it, and it started right up with no issues. Could this be a battery issue, alternator, or something else?
Also...when I sit down, my seat sinks. How do I crank it up? Is there an optional accessory that I must buy, because it appears to be screwed in?
Been trying to schedule with a local mechanic, but I've been rescheduled a few times...I guess I am the low person on the totem pole.
Thanks for the help/input.
