Hello everyone. A few weeks ago my Piper Dakota would not shut off when I cut the mixture. The engine kept running and I had to turn off the Master switch and the mags to stop the engine. I then restarted the engine and it cut off properly. I had our FBO maintenance shop take a look at it a few days later and it shut down fine! I then flew the plane a couple times since and the mixture cut off worked normally when I was shutting down the engine. Today howver, once again I was not able to shut the engine off by cutting the mixture. I once again had to turn off the master switch and the mags.
I certainly have to have our shop take a look at it again, but any ideas as to what the issue is? I do live in Ohio and the weather has been odd, very warm for a few days and then very cold for several. I do have the plane hangared, although there is no heat in the hangar.
Thanks in advance.
