Hello, I walked into the shop yesterday to find my Cherokee 235 sitting with its nose up in the air and sandbags on the stabilator with the tail resting on the tie-down ring. I have been under the impression that this is not a good way to to. I realize that there's some downward force on it in flight and more when you transition into a climb, but to hold an O-540 up for hours seemed a bit questionable to me. I've seen others pull down the tail with a winch on a tug. What's the best way to do that? Would this have caused any damage? Thanks.
