gear switch handle

Not sure of the proper nomenclature I'm going to call it the gear switch handle. During my max pulse install the gear switch handle was removed and the threads appeared stripped. there was also the appearance of an adhesive may have been used.
I'm trying to source a new handle or would it be acceptable to reapply an adhesive?
