Door cam latch

What do you guys recommend for lubeing the cam latch door mechanism. Had to replace the plastic cam latch which broke. Graphite, or is something better.

Also, any tricks on getting it back on. It's for the rear door on a toga and it has to go through the pin mechanism that secures the door to the airframe. Seems impossible to wiggle it through the opening, engage it in the pin lock and the get it situated. Do i have to take the inner door molding off?
