Went out yesterday to deliver 00W to the avionics shop for the GPS install. METAR at KMSO showed 17G25 from 280. I was landing 34 at a nearby airport. Fun ride, interesting landing. What's your "Maximum crosswind component"? At what point is it stupid to attempt to land a PA28? A nice steady crosswind is fun that gusting I could do without, and it was gusting from like 240-360 as far as direction. I looked at the wind sock after I had it planted and im guessing 17-20Kts from 270 ish.
