My first annual! Yippee!!
NOT!!
One thing, I had to pull the carpets and sound proofing to clean up oil that soaked EVERYTHING. In cleaning, a solvent was used that also removed the green coating that I've been told is Zinc Chromate? [insert deer/headlight look here]. Not _just_ Zinc Chromate, but Aviation Zinc Chromate in an aerosol can.
I found where I can get the aerosol at various online retailers but I've already gotten a small fortune in shipping charges just from tracking down parts and things needed for my annual. Hence my ponder.
Does the primer absolutely have to be "Aviation Zinc Chromate - Green" or is there an alternative I can pick up at a local paint speciality shop (like Sherwin Williams) and do without the growing shipping charges?
Don't get me wrong, if I need the right stuff I'll get it. I'm just wondering..
