I own a 1982 PA28-236 and it runs like a dream. Lately, I have noticed the alternator needle will deflect slightly as my strobes flash. This has never happened before and my mechanic deemed it to be the power supply for the strobes. Just so happened, one of my wing strobes was out at the time, so his conclusion made sense. Long story short, he changed the power supply, strobe came back on, but I still have the same deflection. Turn off the strobes, no deflection. AP says alternator is fine. Any ideas?
