So looking for a bit of help here. My ‘79 Arrow has failed the wing spar proposed AD eddy current inspection. Piper apparently have no stock of spars so really stuck as to what’s next. There doesnt seem to be any local aircraft here downunder that are parting out.
The options seem to be
1. Order the spar from Piper, pay a deposit, then they give you a timeframe for manufacture and delivery. Could be months.
2. Do a global search for a Cherokee that is parting out the try and get eddy current inspection done by the seller - either whole wing or just the spar
3. Try and find another supplier of a new spar - unsuccessful so far.
4. Buy another aircraft locally (cheap) and use the wing and sell the rest for parts
Any ideas gratefully received.
