Vacuum pump replacement....

Vacuum pump shuffled off this mortal coil the other day, have a replacement on the way. It's a simple enough job to swap out, especially with a few carefully modified wrenches. My question has to do with the gasket. I watched my IA change his a few months ago, and he used a clear red sealant on the gasket. I can't get ahold of him to find out what it was. What would you recommend for gasket sealant?
