When most things Piper-related are so expensive, I thought I'd mention three accessories that make a big difference for my flying experience at trivial cost.
1. Calibrated dipstick (Aircraft Spruce, USD 16.95)
I regret the few years I flew without one of these. Now I can tell how much fuel I burned after every flight, and how much I have in the tanks before one.
2. Control lock (Aircraft Spruce, USD 39.95)
So much better than other solutions I've tried, like bungees or (worse) using the shoulder belts to secure the yoke. I bought this on the advice of the list, and have loved it ever since.
3. Foam kneepads (Home Hardware, CAD 6.99)
I always keep a pair in my flightbag now with a low-wing plane, we do a lot of stuff close to the ground, and these make it so much easier.
Any other favourite cheap accessories?
