I would like to change the standard incandescent nav light bulbs (or landing and taxi lights) to LED's. Can I legally do that, how do I know and what paperwork is required?
I do not understand the role that various terms play in answering the above questions: PMA; owner supplied; certified; direct replacement; major and minor modification; STC, approved model list. What is the role of the TCDS? I believe I may understand that different FSDO's might have different interpretations of questions like this.
