STEC - 3100

We just had the plane in for spark plug cleaning and cleaning of the AC door down relay as it was not working correctly.

When we got the plane back the STEC 3100 started acting up. When you turned it on, it would start to take control then Beep to indicate a disconnect like I'd depressed the autopilot disconnect button on the Yoke (full transparency, the button was not being pushed). Recycled the system a few times and it started to work again. At one point the screen indicated Alert. No other information. This is a kind of a random data point, but might mean something. It does not show alert, but simply AP Ready now.

Now it won't even act like its taking control.

The screen will say AP Ready, and when the AP button is pushed it will light up (however the FD button does not light up, which I believe is supposed to be automatic if you engage the autopilot, nor could it be depressed individually or even before the AP button to turn on... So FD is no longer an option? - Another potential data point)

Even with the AP button light on, none of the functions like Heading, Nav, IAS, or VS would work, and the AP does nothing to control the plane, still have to control the plane by hand. Which is odd because the AP light is on. We recycled the power to see if it could be reset to no avail. No indication the AP thinks CWS is on.

It would seem that during maintenance, something might have been bumped or disconnected, but it would seem like the AP would "Fail" vs indicating that it was ready to go if it had no external inputs or would do something when the AP light was on. It's like the AP is now on an island and not even connected to the plane other than power.

Any direction would be much appreciated.
