Anyone had there struts rechromed? Recommendations? Guess on the cost?

I have a nose strut that flattens out a couple times a year. It has had new seals put in couple years ago but I noticed there is a flat spot on the face of the strut. I'm thinking this is why it is collapsing. Right now it doesn't happen too often and I'm lucky to have a mechanic here that tops it back off for free. But, I have missed a couple flights becuase of it.
