I've been looking at power settings on my IO-360 200hp. The book says 25" 2400 RPM is 75% BHP. I'm a relatively low time pilot at 350 hrs and have always thought that running MP over RPM was not good for the engine. Then I read where within 4.5 units it's ok?? Also a guy from APS said it's a hoax and that he flies Mp at 30" and 1800 RPM on a TN bonanza.

I normally cruise at 22" 2400 RPM and see 135 TAS.

The wife was complaining the other day why can't we go faster..
So I went 24" 2500 RPM and saw roughly 140 TAS.

I do not have an engine monitor. I plan on installing one in May.
I always want to be conservative on wear and tear on the engine.

Do you have any advice for me as far as power settings? Am I running this thing as efficiently as I can?

Thanks for any info in advance!
