My mechanic notified me today that when my plane goes in the first week of January for its annual that I'll need to comply with the Eddy prop (hub?) AD inspection. He says he'll need to take the prop off and ship it away so my plane might not be done in a week. How much should one of these inspections cost, all-in, including the shipping and third party invoice?

Another friend told me to just pay the extra money to have a new prop hub installed so that it wouldn't be subject to the inspections. Anybody know how much this option would cost vs. getting the regular inspection? How often are those inspections required?
