What is the curly wire at the front of the door? Are the phono jacks in the door?

Just curious, is the wood trim solid?

Yes thats an inflattable door seal, makes a huge difference in cabin noise.

I think the wood trim is hollow inside but I can't tell

Gorgeous ship. It appears to be very well-maintained. How long have you owned it, and why are you parting with her? By the way, what's the useful load?

I have only owned it since March of last year. I was done with the rental drama down at my airport and I needed to complete my IFR training. This plane was the perfect fit. It took us many places, got my wife and family comfortable with the concept of flying small airplanes. Now I like to move on to possibly faster and the idea of a parachute appeals to my wife ( which means more flying for me :) so I will probably be looking at some Cirri SR22. The useful load on N2960R is 1105.5. What I like the most about the Dakota is that weight and balance has almost never been a factor in any of my missions. We bring a lot of souvenirs from wherever we go and as long as it fits as they say it flies but also, I have heard engine failure on take off stories and they shake the bejesus off me and with this plane, it'll put you at 1000/1500 feet in absolutely no time at which point in time I throttle down and relax a bit :). I will say I have never used its full range though of 5 1/2 hours, my crew gets ansy after 3 :) At the end of this month it'll be undergoing its annual and I expect no major surprises because in the past 6 months that I have owned it I have put it through a crazy prebuy and a 100 hours inspection just because. So you are right about taking extra care of it, after all it only hauls my dearest ones.

Btw i went overboard with the pics simply because my wife is a professional photograph and I was falling for every picture that I wanted to share them with y'all. She could possibly help any of u guys who are trying to sell their planes. Check out her website: ( has no planes on it :)
