My first post! I'm transition training to a PA32R-301T, '82. My first Piper and I LOVE it! Here's the problem: When we actuate the emergency gear extension, we usually only get 2 out of 3 lights. Slipping and fish-tails can get 3 lights temporarily, when you hold the emergency gear-down lever on the floor. When you release your pressure on that lever down, we only have 2 lights again.

Needless to say, it scared a new guy like me! When we flip the "normal" gear switch down, we get 3 lights instantaneously. The plane is fresh out of annual, and the gear seems to work fine other than this emergency practice procedure.

Here's the question: since the gear is working in real-life and this is just a simulation, is the main gear switch "UP" fighting with the emergency drop? Could that cause one of the lights to not come on without force, and how worried should I be?

The only difference we could see between the left and right mains: The down lock micro-switch on the left mains is completed pressed in on the left gear, and the switch wiggles about 1/8" on the right mains.

Andy advice or thoughts would be so appreciated! Are there any experts on Saratoga retract gear that I could discuss or consult with?
