I'm shopping for a PA-28-140 and was lucky to find out right before purchasing one that the overhaul used ECi's cylinders. I'm new to aircraft ownership and with everything I've read I don't want to gamble with those cylinders.

Now that I'm looking at others I'm unsure if the engine overhaul used a re-man cylinder or new. Would the log books list the brand and/or model of cylinder used in the overhaul? Do logs normally show that level of detail?
