Some friends and I were having a discussion about the value of an Oil analysis.

Some seem to think simply cutting the filter open looking for metal is enough and happy that a visual inspection is good enough, others talked about sending a oil sample for testing.... my personal view is to send in the sample for testing.. it helps identify a trend over time and might indicate issues long before the "cutting open the filter" people finally see an issue, when it's already probably too late.


Thoughts ?:confused:
