I am having some strange fuel pressure readings put of my 200 hp Arrow. When the engine is running at low rpm, he pressure gauge wobbles a little from around 16 to 20 psi. If I turn on the electric pump the pressure stays constant at around 20, which is about where it usually is all the time. When I rev the engine up to 1500 rpm with the electric pump off, the oscillation increases in intensity and speed. The "wobble" gets faster, and the pressure spikes go up to around 30 psi. Now whhen I turn on the electric pump the oscillation evens put a little, with the low being around 20 psi (the low was 16 with the electric pump off). The speed doesn't change however. At 2000+ rpm, the oscillation guest even faster, with the spikes being near the redline of 50 psi. Turning the electric fuel pump on or off at high rpm does not seem to have any affect. My mechanic is about 50 miles away and he wants me to bring it over for him to have a look. He says it needs to be checked out but he thinks it is safe to fly because it does have the electric backup should the mechanical pump fail. He does not know what could cause it however. Does anyone have any ideas?
