I have a Dakota with the standard incandescent landing light. I would like to replace it with LED (or HID).

What are the pros/cons?

For the landing light, the LEDs seem to be about $300ish and HID $700ish.

Eventually I'd like to put K2U wingtip lights but those seem to run $2500 + (according to my A&P) 35 hours to install.

Thoughts?

I don't fly at night, though sometimes I may arrive back at dusk, but I am looking for good visibility during the day.
