I need an engine, I have a bad crankshaft. I found an excellent A1A that is a constant speed but can easily be converted to a fixed pitch. Has this been done? Would it be legal and would it degrade the value of my plane or not? My type certificate says A3A or A4A only. I would prefer an A4A but they are hard to find in good shape. I'm trying to avoid an overhaul and new crankshaft by selling my engine and buying a used engine. I'm on a budget. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks
