I have a '69 Arrow with an IO 360 B1E. 95% of the time, I fly it at 65% power... 2,300 RPM at the MP indicated on the power chart for the given altitude. I usually get 130 kts at 8.8 gph.

Is there any downside to locking in at 65%? Should I fly at 75% periodically to exercise the engines range?

A friend told me that it's not good to always fly at the same power setting.

I'd appreciate your thoughts!
