New at everything and I want to start my journey to airplane ownership. I'm 45 Years old, call it a midlife crisis? I dunno but I always wanted to learn how to fly. I have been up quite a few times and I love it every time. For some reason I love the lower wing airplanes but for some reason not many flight schools start a beginner pilot with a low wing airplane/or have them available. I have been thinking about a 235 or a Piper Six to own because I love to travel. I like the 84 gallons that the Piper six has compared to the 50 gallons in the 235.

I also did a cost breakdown and found that renting a hangar alone is going to cost 600/month here in Florida (Tampabay area). Which is very steep. Insurance is pretty reasonable with AOPA.

I like to jump in with my eyes wide open, flying is a VERY expensive hobby for me so I would like to know about costs up front so if anybody has a breakdown on costs that would be great. Learning how to fly is going to cost me around 8-10k.

Thanks
