Looking for input on a gear issue on my 1976 PA32-R which has the emergency auto extend system in place. Just came out of annual, and on first flight out gear retract was activated, green gear lights go out but pump still drawing amperage and gear unsafe light and horn activated. Has been on jacks multiple times with a replacement of the hydraulic pump which appeared to have failed as well, but no joy. Gear still not retracting even with the auto extender override engaged and the gear locks remain engaged.Thinking of disabling auto extend system but would expect gear to retract with the override engaged unless there is some major hydraulic bleedoff into the system even with override on. Seems unusual that there would be a hydraulic pump failure and some valve failure in the bypass system at the same time, but Murphy's law could apply. Quite frustrating on myself and mechanic.
