Flew yesterday from DC to Pittsburgh. Some light turbulence over the hills of WV; all systems normal. On the way home, same amount of turbulence over the same hills. When the plane "hit a bump" (turbulence) the Gear In Transit light came on for about 10 seconds and you could hear difference in the air slipstream and feel the plane slow a little. After 10 seconds or so, light went out and flying returned to normal.
This happened a few times, each time when we "hit a bump". After clearing the hills and got to smooth air, the gear stayed put.
Extended normally for landing with no issues.
Thinking either:
A) small leak somewhere and the fluid is just low enough that a bump is enough to move the gear?
B) something in the auto-extend system (which was previously disabled) is allowing the system to dump a little pressure when hitting a bump.
Any other theories or places I should start looking? TIA for any suggestions.
Pete
