As if the intermittent failure of my AP/TC (STEC30) wasn't bad enough (only 2 weeks before my IR check ride) I'm also experiencing intermittent problems with the fuel gauge for the right tank. (98 Archer III)

On first start up, it generally reads empty, although sometimes it reads about 5 gallons. (Despite the fact that the tank is full on visual inspection.) However, during runup, the gauge rises to normal readings, and generally stays there during flight. (Although not always) Of course, I've stopped trusting the gauge, and have been calculating fuel contents of that tank. (I've only been using that tank for cruise flight, to make the calculations easier.)

Any advice before I talk to my AP about it?
