I have some NOS Piper inspection panel assemblies. They have a 5 3/4" diameter base plate with six #8 nut plates to hold the cover. The base plate is pilot drilled for 12 number 3 rivets around the perimeter. The actual opening is 3.5 inches. The cover plate has six dimpled holes to accommodate flat head screws. The cover plate is 4 5/8" diameter.

This will give you a really nice flush mounted access panel with very little work. Just cut a 4 11/16" hole and drill 12 #3 rivet holes. If you want everything flush, just dimple the holes in the base plate as well.

Material is .032 aluminum, treated & primed during assembly by Piper.

Piper part numbers 17317-003 (base) and 17318-002 (cover). Originally used on Aztecs and Navajos.

I have a set of four assemblies, for $120 shipped Priority Mail in the US.

PM for photos.
