I like my refinished wheels so much that I'm considering not putting my wheel pants back on for a while.

I checked the parts manual for a dust shield, and I see one is indicated.

Will the dust shield cover the inner tube valve stem, or will it stick through?

Are there other styles of hubcaps or dust shields that I can use, or must I use what is referenced in the parts manual?

Or I suppose I don't need dust shields at all? I don't use any when I install wheel pants. They seem merely ornamental.
