Looking back over the last yr. right before Christmas, I remember where I was, and what I was doing. Last yr. at this time, I was prepping to get my PPL, and flying a lot to get ready for the checkride. Nervous doesn't describe how I felt

I would think all the various tests I've taken all my life would've prepared me for the checkride, but this was different. Suffice it to say, I had a great checkride (no horror stories).

Seven months later, I got my 65 180C, thinking I would be flying more often if I had my own plane. Well, I haven't.

I've flown, don't get me wrong, but not nearly as much as I would like. My girlfriend owns the first nickel she ever made, and thinks I'm foolish for owning a plane. Hence, still the girlfriend and nothing more. Just something about having my own plane puts a smile on my face. The fact that if I WANT to go flying, and the weather is good..... I'm gone. I don't care if I just do some pattern work, or some manuvuers, I'm up, and I'm happy.

Some things women, or shall I say some women don't understand, or just plain don't need to understand.

I've met some great people, had some scary times, Like coming in on final on a short runway, and the throttle cable broke.........and I've had some good times too.

I've found a man needs 3 things..... 1) a battle to fight........ this could include work, or whatever. 2) an adventure, and flying is my adventure. some guys like cars too. and 3) a beauty to rescue..... well I'm still single at 56. (Remember, she doesn't like me spending money on AVGAS and such.)

I've had a good time, and learned a lot on this Forum as well. So, with all that said, I'd just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, or politically correct..... Happy Holidays, and wish all of you blue skies, low winds, and safety for the New Year.

I'm still happy I bought my Cherokee................... :D
