Just had an interesting failure last night - the rubber washers between the nut and plug body on our PA32 installation will just not hold torque, and the #5 plug wire just fall off! Found two others less than finger tight.

This is the 2nd time this has happened, the cause appears to be the rubber washer between the wire nut and the body of the plug - it deforms so easily that it allows the nut to work loose.

Has anyone had a problem with wire retention? Thinking they should be replaced with Teflon (or similar)?

TIA!
