So I have a 2300 hour 73 Challenger with a fresh motor but seriously outdated panel. It needs ADS-B and the Century Autopilot is non-functional and there are some other issues as well. To fix (upgrade)those two issues I am probably looking at at least half the cost of the Dynon HDX system (when it is released) . There are additional issues as well and some of the functioning components such as kx-155 and MX-170 radios, attitude indicator, CDI's etc could be sold to offset some of the HDX system install costs. To me I see the possibility of a huge upgrade in the panel that is at least partially subsidized by the repairs I need, components I can sell, and ADS-B install costs I'm going to incur anyways. Am I out on a limb with this? Anyone else doing the math same as me?
Of course I realize the STC for the PA-28 has not been released yet but I don't think its to far away.
