This is the first time I will be hitting the 50-hour mark before my annual is due (I've only had the plane for 2 years) and am debating whether to attempt an oil change myself. From what I've seen and read, it seems similar to changing a car's oil, with the exception of needing to cut open the oil filter for inspection, and possibly sending a sample to a lab.
I would love any advice and caveats from pilots who do their own.
