Firstly, hello. Im the proud new owner of a 1976 piper lance 300.

Ive a problem with the fuel flow guage. When the mechanical fuel pump only is working, the guage dances all over the place. when i switch on the electric fuel pump, it goes as solid as a rock.

The fuel pump itself has recently been replaced (as part of the prebuy)

the broker tells me this is a quite common problem, and is to do with the damping mechanism.

I dont get this, as its so stable when the electric pump is turned on.

what do the forum think?

Andrew
