A family of four died in a crash of N7153R, a 1966 Cherokee 140, after takeoff from Moab Utah on October 1st. Departing after a re-fueling stop. Field elevation 4555.

The plane was purchased this past spring, and was based in North Dakota.

It appears to be a harsh lesson in the effects of density altitude. Doubly sad to see the children died too.
