General question on the right way to do things. If I wanted to carry something that might be bulky but only weigh about 30lbs or so, is it OK to remove the rear seat backrest so that it could fit and be tied down safely? If I could, do I figure my weight and balance under utility? I would still have the seat bottom installed. This is a 1965 180C with a bench rear seat.

Just a thought. Nice to know in the future sometime.
