I've asked my mechanic to drain and refill my hydraulic system for the gear/flaps as well as replace the filter. The filter was replaced a couple years ago but I'm seeing no record over the last 30 years of the fluid being changed out.
Sometimes I'm not seeing the gear knob snap back when I put the gear down.... always promptly get 3 green and gear locked and I see it wanting to snap back (and if I touch it it does) but wanted to rule this out before I go yanking hydrolic packs. If I try to put it back down after the gear is down, it refuses to stay. Also it snaps back briskly on gear up.
So, my question is after changing the fluid, to do a system bleed, does the AP need to raise it on jack stands and cycle the gear or is just cycling the flaps good enough?
Thanks for the advice
