I have a 1984 Dakota and have a question about the autopilot. I have what I believe is a King Autopilot 100. It is connected to a Garmin 530 and a KI 525A.

I engage the autopilot in NAV mode, and turn the NAV bug to the heading the Garmin gives me. The problem I am having is that the autopilot will not correct for wind. I end up having to manually adjust the nav bug, but then the 530 complains because I don't have the bug at the correct heading.

Is this normal operation, or is there something wrong with my autopilot?

Thanks for the help,
Mark
