Hello! Need help figuring out the best place for my iPad Mini 3 ...

I fly with ForeFlight on a mini iPad 3. I've used RAM Mounts to mount it in my wind screen right above my communications stack. I've also mounted it on the left side of window and in an empty space between my yokes, on an empty blank plate. My Instructor won't let me mount it in the window or on the blank plate between the yokes. I've also tried the yoke mounts and the MyGoInFlight LEATHER FOLIO KNEEBOARD/LAPBOARD. I'm 5'0 and holding it on my lap becomes an issue. It falls. It falls from the lap of my instructor who is 6' tall. I had an idea to affix velcro to a dedicated iPad case and velcro it to the blank space. What are your thoughts and suggestions? I've added photos to show where I'm talking about ... thanks!
