I purchased a Piper Cherokee 140 about four yrs. ago installed a engine analyzer about a yr. after buying it, finding out that the #3 cylinder was running very hot 480 to 500 degrees ,long story short had to have the engine rebuilt. I had the engine rebuilt by a very reputable shop, even after having the engine rebuilt the #3 cylinder still gets hotter than I would like , on hot days on climb out it gets in the 460 range but does cool down in level flight and will run low 350 - 400 . Just between running all the tests with the first engine and changing the carburetor to a richer one on this motor I'm at a loss , To me it seems like it must be airflow over #3 and my baffling is also new. Any one else ever have this issue
