I am interested in a Tomahawk in FL and unfortunately I am in CA. So if everything goes OK within a week or so we'll finalize the sale process and by February 15th I'll have the keys to the plane.
Then I need to fly to home. Once in a lifetime adventure for a VFR pilot like me.

I am interested to find out if anyone made a similar trip and what they would recommend? Any routes must be followed, any airports great to stupor definitely one to avoid etc.

Also season-wise is it a good time to FL to CA flight? My intention to start my flight on Feb 15th,2020 and arrive to Central CA by latest Feb 23rd in case if I have to be grounded due to weather along the way.

If I can't make it all the way to CA within 8 days of my departure due together issues then I'll leave the plane wherever I am and fly home commercially only to be back and continue the trip whenever I can do it later.

So, any advice?
