My apartment is in an old building. Last week I had an issue with the sink clogging so I called the manager to send someone out. They ended up not being able to fix the issue using conventional snake in the hole, and actually had to cut tile to find the clog (rusted pipes clogged by earth). I came back from work today to find my apartment tile ripped up, and dust from the ceramic everywhere! All over my pots/pans/kuerig. They used a plastic sheet in attempt to block off the upstairs (where my bedroom/bathroom is) and it did nothing. When I walked upstairs I was appalled. Dust literally covering every piece of everything I own. I know silica dust is serious stuff, and I do have renters insurance. They are sending in "cleaners" tomorrow. Personally, I don't feel comfortable having some of these things simply "cleaned" considering I eat and drink out of them! Well. Pictures are worth a million words. Everything was video documented and I got tons of pictures of the damage. What should I do?
