Common and accepted discussion is proper tire maintenance = better longevity. Ie, proper inflation is important. No argument.

But tires do wear and sometimes faster depending on runway surfaces.

Does anyone have pictures of aircraft tires in various states of wear for reference? Perhaps with flaws, defects, and wear circled and labeled?

What should we be looking for to proactively replace a tire if it’s starting to wear? What the cracking look like? What should we be inspecting for on every pre-flight?
