Turbo lance II

Any turbo Lance owners that can help me understand the basics of take off power and power management? I just bought a 78 Turbo Lance II and will be bringing it home on Monday. I kinda understand the power management in cruise but not take off. Can anyone offer any advice? I currently own a Cherokee 235 with engine management (JPI 700). This new plane has engine management as well (GEM ??).
